This is me, Goldie, and my Mom, Chrys. (She’s the one with the glasses.) Painted Dog Market was created by us. Well, we had a little bit of help along the way, but we’re the top dogs. (Ha, get it? Top Dogs?)

Anyway, Mom has been painting since 2002, and my sister, Beamish, and I have been at her side since 2007, helping her run her retail store, Curious Cat.   It was when I decided to check out the trash can in mom’s workshop one day, when she had just thrown away a piece of pallet paper still wet with paint , that  we came up with the idea for a new business. Yep, I stuck my face in that trash can, and well, the rest is history. Mom didn’t paint me; I painted myself!  (That’s me in the picture on the right.) And that’s how Painted Dog was born.

At Painted Dog we specialize in hand-painted glass, slate and wood for wholesale and retail markets. Mom is the artist in the family and she’s really good. Though she often likes to say she didn’t choose painting, it chose her. But I always bolster her up and tell her, “Hey, Mom, if I can do it, so can you!”
